Digital Entrepreneurship Training Programme
The Digital Entrepreneurship Training Programme is a one-year, full-time programme designed to equip young people with practical
digital, business and entrepreneurial skills. The programme combines theoretical learning with experiential, hands-on training, preparing participants to pursue employment, freelancing, self-employment and digital business opportunities.
Who Can Apply
The programme is open to:
• Young unemployed Muslims between the ages of 20 and 30
• Primarily, but not exclusively, Black African Muslim youth
• Applicants who are motivated to develop digital and entrepreneurial skills
• A matric certificate is not required
What You Will Learn
Participants will receive practical training in a range of digital tools and platforms, including:
• WordPress – website development and management
• Social Media Strategy & Management – building and managing digital brands
• Canva – graphic design and digital content creation
• Claude AI – using artificial intelligence for business and productivity
• WooCommerce – establishing and managing online stores
• WhatsApp & Wati Strategy – using WhatsApp for business communication, marketing and customer engagement
• Fiverr and Freelance Platforms – developing freelance services and accessing online income opportunities
Programme Outcomes
By completing the programme, participants will develop practical digital entrepreneurship and business skills that can be applied in the workplace or to establish their own income-generating ventures.
The programme aims to create pathways towards:
• Employment and career opportunities in the digital economy
• Self-employment and freelancing
• Digital business creation
• Financial independence
• Further education and skills development
Subject to eligibility and successful completion of the programme, suitable candidates may also have a pathway through Recognition
of Prior Learning (RPL) into Higher Certificate programmes at Regent Business School in a subsequent year.
Programme Structure
The programme will accommodate 30 participants per annual cohort and will run on a full-time basis for one year, combining
theoretical instruction with practical and experiential learning.
Programme Requirements & Support
Participants will be required to attend the programme on a full-time basis and must be available daily for in-person participation at the Suliman Nana Memorial Centre in Johannesburg.
Participants will receive a monthly subsistence stipend of R3,500 per month for the duration of the programme, subject to the applicable programme requirements.
Each participant will also receive a data SIM card to support their participation in the programme and digital learning activities.
